Licensing model

Also known as: Pricing model · Software licence model · Lizenzmodell

A licensing model determines how driving-school software is billed — per instructor seat, per school, or per student. Each model creates different incentives around growth and capacity utilisation.

Driving-school software typically uses one of three licensing models:

  • Per instructor (seat-based): one licence per active instructor. Predictable, scales with the team. Downside: small schools with high student-to-instructor ratios pay no more for serving more students.
  • Per school (flat rate): a fixed price independent of size. Simple, but small schools end up subsidising large ones.
  • Per student: billed by active students per month. Scales with utilisation, but makes monthly invoices fluctuate.

RoadReview offers an app for practical lesson documentation in use, driving school management in closed beta and Family on invitation. App and management conditions are discussed on enquiry; the free Family store download is separate.

The right model depends on whether your business is bottle-necked by instructor capacity, by student volume, or by overall school count.
