What the differences mean for your school.

Distinguish preparation from reviewing a lesson

DriversCam presents regional situations in videos and checks learning through practice tests. RoadReview keeps the recorded lesson available for later discussion. These support different learning tasks. Decide whether you need regional material, the learner’s own drive or both in your teaching.

Instructor-created videos are part of the offering

Vogel’s FAQ describes an instructor app for recording and uploading videos to learning maps. In a demo, check the areas and custom content your school needs and how training progress is accessed. These functions establish neither the absence nor the presence of recording the learner’s own GPS route.

RoadReview’s documented scope: Lesson recording · Voice notes · GPX export. Recording requires location permission and suitable GPS reception. Completed lessons can be saved locally and uploaded later; maps, transcription and access from other devices require internet. Training progress is an orientation aid, not a prediction of passing.

When DriversCam is the better fit

When DriversCam can be the right call.

  • If you want to discuss regional traffic situations using videos and then check understanding with practice tests.
  • If your team wants to add its own videos to learning maps and connect DriversCam to PC Professional for teaching.
When RoadReview fits

When RoadReview is the right call.

  • If you want to connect the learner’s actual GPS drive with recorded situations and voice notes for review.
  • If you want to keep your current administration initially. App access and management beta participation are arranged separately; this does not promise an automatic integration.
  • If you want to invite parents or companions voluntarily through Family. Family is available and requires a revocable learner invitation and synchronised data.

Plan a change before transferring data.

Before switching, preserve existing records, test a defined lesson workflow and agree who maintains and shares data. Student records, assessment histories and contracts are not automatically imported from DriversCam. We discuss suitable exports and the actual transfer scope before setup.

Frequently asked questions

What driving schools want to know before switching.

Is DriversCam only announced?

No. Vogel describes an available app, instructor access and a single licence that can be ordered. We compare this specific product rather than an earlier unspecified announcement.

Is DriversCam a passive video catalogue?

That description is incomplete. The product page lists a learning map, practice tests, basic driving tasks and training progress; the FAQ describes instructor-created videos. These do not establish recording of the learner’s own GPS lessons.

Which RoadReview products are available?

The app is in use. RoadReview reports more than 4 million recorded GPS points and more than 1,000 learners supported. School management is a separate product in closed beta. Family is available. Usage figures do not establish exam pass rates.

Can I transfer all data automatically?

A complete automatic migration is not promised here. Check existing exports, required student data, permissions and retention before switching. Scope and setup are arranged separately for the app and management beta.

How should I compare cost and privacy?

Request offers for the same scope: access, modules, setup, duration, export and payment services. Also review the relevant product privacy information, storage locations, roles, deletion and a data processing agreement where applicable. Missing details establish neither a privacy defect nor a price advantage.

More general questions are on the central FAQ page.
