Driving progress In use

See development. Discuss the assessment.

The driving progress score summarises recorded lessons as a value from 0 to 100. It supports a conversation about your development and does not replace your instructor’s assessment.

How the driving progress score is calculated

“How far have I come?” cannot be answered by one lesson. RoadReview shows several recorded aspects and their development. The score is an orientation, not a forecast of your practical test result.

Four aspects of recorded lessons

The calculation considers mistake frequency, mistake severity, development over time and recorded lesson volume. Their weights are 35, 20, 25 and 20 percent. These percentages describe the formula, not a chance of passing.

A trend rather than a snapshot

Component values and trends help explain changes. Key mistake measures use the last eight lessons. With limited data, the result is provisional; a single number always needs the context of the exercises.

Professional judgement still matters

The instructor can adjust the value by up to 20 points in either direction. This connects the recorded metric with their judgement. Decisions about further training do not follow automatically from the score.

Three steps

Read the score, trend and practice together

  1. Open the score

Check the progress score and data notice.

  2. Read the component values

Consider frequency, severity, trend and lesson volume.

  3. Discuss it with your instructor

Clarify specific exercises and unresolved situations.

An orientation scale, not a test prediction

0 to 100 is a scale, not a percentage chance of passing. The score does not authorise taking a test and does not replace the instructor or examiner.

Students use RoadReview through a participating driving school. New schools can register their interest; the enquiry does not automatically activate access.

Questions about the driving progress score

Does 80 points mean an 80 percent chance of passing?

No. The points are an orientation based on recorded lessons. A probability of passing is not calculated.

Why is the score provisional?

With few recorded lessons, there is limited data. The notice helps you interpret early values cautiously.

Can my instructor adjust the score?

Yes. A manual adjustment of up to 20 points in either direction is provided. Always discuss the score in the context of your practice.

Discuss your development using specific lessons.

Ask whether your driving school uses RoadReview. Access is provided through the participating school. You can send an enquiry to recommend RoadReview to your school.
